The choir at Sacred Heart is a thriving, lively and enthusiastic group of singers and musicians who together fulfil the important music ministry for the parish.
The team consists of a vast range of ages and talents – some of our parent members bring their children with them, also some of our elder state persons are octogenarians! All of which bring a love of musical worship.
All are welcome, we have semi- and fully professional members, as well as those who somply enjoy singing with others.
We cover three musical services each weekend, these are:
* Saturday 6pm Usually a family based mass.
* Sunday 10.30am The High mass on Sundays.
* Sunday 6pm A more folk styled mass.
In addition, we aim to support other feast days throughout the year.
We have a number of talented musicians who enhance the masses. We also attend local concerts and enjoy close links with other parishes, schools and diocese and are regularly invited to support larger performances and forms of worship.
A strong group of singers regularly supports the annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes.
As St. Augustine said –
When you sing well, you pray twice.
