Holy Orders

The Sacrament of Holy Orders is the sacrament through which men are ordained to serve the Church in a particular way, in the three orders of deacon, priest and bishop. Currently we have two priests originally from our parishes ordained for the diocese of Westminster. Fr Nicholas Schofield grew up just around the corner from St John the Evangelist Church, Mill End, and went to St Joan of Arc School. He was ordained a priest in May 2003. At Our Lady Help of Christians, we have had the blessing of one of our parishioners, Fr. Andrew Jaxa-Chamiec, being ordained to the priesthood in June 2014.

If you believe that God may be calling you to serve the Church as a priest or deacon, visit the diocesan vocations website at http://rcdow.org.uk/vocations/ where you can find out more information and details of how to contact the diocesan vocations director. Please also feel free to speak to the parish clergy.

The diocesan vocations website also contains information about the vocations to marriage and consecrated life (life as a nun, monk or religious sister).
