The One World Group

Links with Bugisi, Tanzania

Our parish is linked with a mission station in Tanzania called Bugisi, for which we raise money by holding car boot and book sales. We have diverted our monies for the last two years to building a kindergarten on a Zanzibar coconut plantation, but as this is nearing completion we are free to concentrate on Bugisi again – the next project being to raise money for classroom and dormitory furniture.

Supporting Justice and Peace Campaigns

We have also been involved with the Cancel the Debt Campaign, Christian Solidarity and protests against the Armaments Trade by attending rallies and writing letters. We support ethical trading and a local Homeless Night Shelter Project.

New members are always welcome – the core group consists of Hilda McCafferty, Emma Nicklen and Lily Warren. Tony Devine magically crams all our booty into his van and ferries us to and from car boot sales. All the items we sell are kindly donated by parishioners.

More help at this events would be most welcome as we carry a considerable range of items which all need displaying and packing.

We meet monthly to discuss what events we wish to advertise and attend. Fresh blood would be a great boost to the group.
