Finding God in Nature

11th July 2020 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

The Christian faith has a complicated relationship with the natural world; having “dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air.. and over all the wild animals” (Gen 1;26-28) hasn’t worked out so well if you look at the current environmental crisis.  We will explore how to reconcile contemporary environmental science, Christian faith, and your direct experience of the benefits of time in the natural world.

This workshop will run in three parts. We will start with a Zoom online workshop to explore the role of the natural world in Christian spirituality. Then we will take a break to allow everyone to go outside and experience nature directly, applying some of the principles from the introduction. Those who wish can meet for a socially distanced walk in Trent Park, otherwise this can take place in your own garden or a nearby park. Afterwards we will all meet in a final zoom session to come together and reflect.

This session will be facilitated by Jonathan Males, an executive coach and spiritual director who helps people in all walks of life to know themselves better and to grow into their full humanity.
