Daily Prayer

If you have decided that it’s probably not enough to just go to Mass on a Sunday – here are a few ideas to get you going. If one doesn’t work try another.

Pray As You Go  (PAYG)

If it’s difficult getting into the habit or finding time we have found PAYG as the premier resource for many years now. It’s a podcast based daily prayer 10-12 minutes each day with music a reading and some guided prayer.  You can download each day from the website or use the excellent Phone Apps – if you haven’t tried it, give it a go. Great for commuting! it’s also a great fall back if you can’t get going on your own.

If you prefer paper this monthly pocket sized publication is very popular. You can buy an individual month from “good book shops” or subscribe here . It has all the Mass readings for the month, a morning and evening prayer and much more. Even if you only read each day’s Gospel its only £42-45 pa delivered every two months.

A website with all the daily readings. It’s free on-line but there are apps for your phone too. The Android app is a one-off payment of £9.99. It even works in “flight mode” on your phone, so you can use it at Mass without fear of your boss interrupting the service.

The “Covenant Prayer”

A simple book and technology free approach. Maybe at the end of the day as a review? Only three things to remember:

  1. Thank You Jesus (insert what you are thankful to God) – repeat for as many things that you can think of.
  2. Sorry – All the things that you are less than proud of. Again repeat

Requestsfor the graces that you need, for the people and situations where you want God to shine his light.
