Social Groups

To find out more about any of these activities please contact the Parish Office

Union of Catholic Mothers (UCM)

The UCM is our parish women’s group. And you don’t have to be a mum – the group welcomes all our female parishioners. There is a varied programme of activities, and members build up friendships and support, and grow in spirituality.

Meetings take place twice a month, on Monday evenings, in the Parish Centre.

Knights of St Columba (KSC)

The KSC is our parish men’s group. The Knights run a varied programme of activities and fundraising events which are open to the whole parish community.

For more about the KSC at St Lawrence’s see Our Parish Supports.

Over 50’s Club

The Over 50’s Club is where our ‘seniors’ meet to share friendship and a cup of tea. There is no formal programme – just a very welcome opportunity to get to know your fellow parishioners.

Meetings take place on Wednesdays, from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm, in the Parish Centre.

Mother and Toddler Group

Our Mother and Toddler Group is open to all babies and toddlers and their carers, and offers toys and activities for all pre-school children. There is a small charge per family for each session but no booking is required – so just come along.

The group meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9.15 am to 11.15 am, in the Parish Centre. After the play session has ended parents and children can stay to eat a packed lunch together.

St Lawrence’s Youth Club (SLYC)

SLYC is our parish youth group. It is where our young parishioners (aged 14+) can meet socially and have fun. SLYC also offers a chance to look at what matters to young people – in the parish, the local area and beyond.

Meetings take place on Fridays from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm, in either the Parish Centre or St Lawrence’s School Hall.
