Dear Friends,
We are approaching the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel last year and the war that ensued and continues. We have attached reflections of the CEO of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. You may wish to contribute to their vital work in the Holy Land.
This Friday (4th October) at 13h30 we will celebrate a Requiem Mass for Anthony Gooch. Please pray for him and his family.
Fairtrade 30th Anniversary Event
A very big thank you to all those who baked, helped to sell and purchased Fairtrade items at our fantastic Fairtrade event. We raised £178.90 in cash donations which was sent to Transform Trade. A further £135 was donated through the card reader. We thank Marion for having an array of Fairtrade produce at her stall. Marion has sent a total of £160 to Transform Trade by donating £25 from her sales in addition to the £135 that was donated through the card reader.
Season of Creation
The Season of Creation comes to a close with the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on 4th October but we will celebrate the Feast at our Family Mass on 6th October. Some of you bring your dogs to Mass, we will thank God for them, humanity’s most faithful friend.
Faith Formation/Sharing
We will have our first FHC prep session this Sunday at 09h00 in the Parish Room. We will hold a second post-FHC session after the family Mass. Our next teenage faith-sharing session will be on 19th October at 17h00. Please let us know if you will attend this session. On 6th October we will have Confirmation registration at 12h30 and RCIA registration at 16h00. Please remember to bring your children’s baptism certificates and written permission from your Parish Priest if you do not live in our Parish. Then on 20th October Karen and Santana Luis will hold a Faith Sharing Prayer Group at 16h00 in the Parish Room. Please see the invitation and Zoom link below should you not be able to attend in person.
The Common Good
Are you interested in the Christian understanding of the ‘common good’ and it’s biblical foundation and what it means in daily life? We live in a time of political turbulence and social division which is challenging our common life. How can we establish a culture of encounter? The common good offers a way forward for Christians of all traditions, rooted in relationship with God. Come and join us to read, reflect and pray using Holy Scripture. We will meet in the Parish Rooms and those who cannot come in person are welcome to join via Zoom:
