Dear Friends,
Winter is descending and with it the shorter days. We change the clocks this weekend so remember to put them back one hour as in “Fall—back, Spring—Forward”. As we start to stay in our homes more than in the sunny days, it can be a time when some of us feel low. It’s a good time for reading and a good time for praying. This coming Friday 1st November is the Feast of All Saints. It is a Holyday of Obligation and Masses here (as always) are at 10h00 and 19h30. November is the month of the Holy Souls. If you wish to have family members or friends remembered at our Daily Masses please see the sheets and envelopes in the Porch.
On 30th October we will pray the Rosary here at 09h45 if you would like to come. For those of you who cannot attend in person this will of course by live-streamed so you can follow online. Remember the address is: churchservices.tv/Hampstead. Also available in person and online is our Faith-Sharing Group which will meet this Sunday at 16h00 in the Parish Room. See overleaf for Zoom details.
Today, 25th October, is the Feast of The Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Palestine. Please pray for peace in the Holy Land & the Middle East. https://www.oessh.va/content/ordineequestresantosepolcro/en/gran-magistero/le-feste-dell-ordine/beata-vergine-maria-regina-di-palestina.html
The SVP Bazaar will be held after the Masses on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November. They need donations of high quality / new items for sale as Christmas gifts. On the day they need donations of individual cakes for sale. The money raised helps local people in need and the SVP’s wider charity works. Please support this event.
‘Dilexit nos’, Pope Francis’ fourth Encyclical, retraces the tradition and relevance of thought on “the human and divine love of the heart of Jesus Christ,” calling for a renewal of authentic devotion to avoid forgetting the tenderness of faith, the joy of serving, and the fervour of mission. https://www.indcatholicnews.com/news/50935
