APF / Mill Hill Missionaries
Missio and the ‘Red Box’ scheme
The ‘Red Box’ is 75 years old next year! In this parish, we have over 80 of the little red boxes in people’s homes The idea is to put a few coins aside after shopping; the coins are collected twice a year and in the spring of this year we raised £971.21p and over £1,000 in the autumn, giving a magnificent total for the year of £2,057!
The funds collected in each diocese of England and Wales are sent directly to local bishops in the mission territories by the APF (The Association for the Propagation of the Faith) which is the official charity for the overseas mission of the church, and gives support in some of the busiest, poorest and most isolated places – in all 1,069 mission dioceses in the world.
Many thanks to everyone helping to make the scheme a success and if you would like to help, maybe by having a red box in your home, please contact Bill Lear – details below.
