Little Church

Little Church is designed to bring the liturgy to young children who have not yet made their first communion at a level they can more easily understand.

Little Church takes place during Mass in a separate area. The children gather with their parents in the church.  At the beginning of Mass they are called forward  then process out with their lectionary. At the offertory the children are brought back into church to take the offerings and join in the remaining celebration of the Mass.

During Little Church we light candles for special intentions chosen by the children, sing songs and listen to the gospel reading, discussing its meaning with the children afterwards.  We finish with an activity which usually includes colouring in pictures from the gospel, which on many occasions are displayed around the altar..

Children should be accompanied whenever possible by either their Mum or their Dad.  Children under 3 must be accompanied by one of their parents and are very welcome to stay and grow with Little Church, so that when old enough they too can join in the liturgy.

We are always delighted to welcome our children and parents and look forward to greeting our new members in the
