Fr Dominic Byrne – Parish Priest

frdominicFr Dominic Byrne is the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Dolours, Hendon. He is responsible for all aspects of parish life. Sheila Barr – Parish Secretary / Assistant

sheilaAs well as managing the practical aspects of Presbytery life, Sheila assists Fr Dominic in a variety of ways with Parish Administration. Sheila also takes care of the Children’s Liturgy at the Sung (Family) Mass on Sunday at 10am. Sheila has taken care of the Children’s Liturgy for 21 years.

 

 Tony Lenihan – Sacristan

tonylenihanTony Lenihan is Sacristan at Our Lady of Dolours. In addition to his duties in the Sacristy, Tony is an altar server, extra-ordinary minister of the Eucharist (taking communion to the sick and house-bound) and church cleaner! Tony also takes care of the parish garden which came 3rd in the Barnet Garden in Bloom Awards 2009 for Best Front Garden.

John Brooks – Master of Ceremonies

johnbrooksJohn Brooks is Master of Ceremonies at Our Lady of Dolours and, in 2002, was awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontefici for services to the Diocese of Westminster. If you would like to serve at Parish Liturgies please speak to John or email hendon@rcdow.org.uk.

 

Sister Anthony – First Communion Preparation

sranthonySister Anthony – Sister Anthony has been a familiar presence in the Parish for over sixty years. Sister is also a Reader, Extra-Ordinary Minister of the Eucharist and makes home visits. Rachel Doherty – First Holy Communion

rachel1Rachel will be preparing the children this year for First Holy Communion. Rachel has been a catechist with the Confirmation group for 6 years and also helped with the children’s Sunday Liturgy over the last 10 years.

 

Michael Feord – Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

michaelfeordMichael Feord has been involved with RCIA for about 15 years. Over the years people have attended RCIA from all kinds of cultural and faith backgrounds. The RCIA course is designed each year to cater for the needs of those attending preparing them to be received into the Church at the Easter Vigil. Monika Cleaver – Catechist

monica-cleaver_web1Monika Cleaver has been a catechist at Our Lady of Dolours for more then 13 years, mostly as the lead of our team for the Confirmation programme. Monika is now focusing on adult catechesis in our parish and will be working with and leading the RCIA team. She also does the parent sessions for the First Holy Communion programme and leads faith discussions in the parish.

Nuala Flynn- Befriending group

Nuala organises a group that reach out to people in the parish who may be unable to attend church, and would like to be visited or transported to Mass.

 

John Ward – Chairman, Finance Committee

Jerry Smith – Safeguarding Representative

jerry-smith-olodJerry has special responsibility for raising awareness of safeguarding aims and policies, and promoting good and safe practices in all activities involving children, young people and vulnerable adults within the Parish. He has responsibility for facilitating the CRB Disclosure procedure and ensuring that everybody who is required to go through the procedure does so. Jerry promotes engaging with children and vulnerable adults whilst safeguarding all those involved.
