GDPR- New ways of administration and management of information

THE GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR), which came into effect on May 2018, has imposed some new ways of administration and management of information in different institutions and/or organisations. The Church is not an exception. As a result of this development, there have been some noticeable changes in the administration of our parish.

The distribution of our Planned Giving /Gift Aid Envelopes is one of the changes happening in the parish at the moment. We can no longer display those envelopes in “public” as was previously the case (Data Protection).

In addition, we will no longer publish the list of sick people in our parish newsletter without written consent from family members, which can be in form of a letter that a member of the family will sign  or through email authorising us to include the person’s name in our Sick List.

Furthermore, the way that liturgical Rotas are displayed in the Church has been changed.

Please, we appeal for your understanding as we work to make our parish GDPR Compliant as required by the existing law.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Parish Management.
