The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

If you are an adult who has been thinking about becoming a full member of the Catholic Church, then we invite you to form part of our RCIA group. We meet once a week from October and look at a number of areas to do with the life of Catholics today. During the year we have an opportunity to deepen our faith in God and to find out if this is the path that God wants for you. There will be a chance to meet the Cardinal and his assistant Bishops in Westminster Cathedral for the Rite of Election. Full reception into the Catholic Church happens at the most important night of the year at the Easter Vigil.

Come and See.
Do you want to know more about the Catholic faith?

When Jesus saw the two disciples following him,
he turned to them and said “What are you looking for?”

They said to him “Rabbi, where are you staying?”
and he said to them “Come and see”
and they stayed with him that day. (John 1:38-39)

Come and see
if you want to know more about the Catholic faith.

In this parish, we have meetings weekly between October and Easter for people who want to know more about the Catholic faith.

  • you may be thinking about becoming Catholic;
  • you may never have been baptised or
  • you may be baptised in another Christian denomination.
  • you may be Catholic; but you want to know more.
  • you may be Catholic; but you’ve been away from the Church for a while.

One thing you have in common is that you want to know more about our Catholic faith.

Some people who come along to these meetings have been coming to Mass for years and never felt they could ask to know more.  Others have met the Church through a Catholic husband or wife; some have met the parish through the baptism, communion or confirmation preparation of their children, others through sickness or death.  Some have met Catholics at work or next door.  Some are in some way dissatisfied with their lives or feel there is a gap they want to fill and they want something more.

If you are one of these people, you are warmly invited to join us. Come and see what we are like, what we believe in.  Jesus claimed himself to be the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).  He offers us a new vision of reality; and we believe, as Christians, that this vision – his unique way of looking at reality – is the truth that sets us free.
