Mary’s Meals provides one good meal to some of the world’s poorest children every school day. Our work is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, who brought up her own child in poverty. Mary’s Meals consists of, respects, and reaches out to people of all faiths and of none.
“All around the world, schools are closed and homes have become places of learning. This means we have had to find new ways to feed the children who eat Mary’s Meals – sometimes the only food they receive in a day. The UN recently published a report calling for urgent attention to be given to the plight of children globally. It highlights the catastrophic effect that loss of school meals during the coronavirus pandemic could have in the world’s poorest countries.”
