Children’s Liturgy Resources

Essential Quick Guide for Catechists for Liturgy of the Word with children produced by the Agency for Evangelisation (Diocese of Westminster) informs and guides catechists providing this essential ministry.  Towards the end of the guide, it includes a section on further reading and resources.

CAFOD is hosting weekly virtual Children’s Liturgy (via Webinar) at 10 am every Sunday.  Registration to join the webinar is required – access the registration link through this link.  CAFOD also produce weekly Prayer and Activity resources for children available through the same link.

The Wednesday Word – a resource familiar to many families and primary school children

Sunday Connections  published by the Loyola Press provides resources for children and young people for each Sunday of the Year.  For each Sunday, they have produced approximately age appropriate resources divided into 4 groups.  The Loyola Press mission is to bring people to the transforming love of God, based on the principles of St Ignatius of Loyola.  They also have produced a range of resources for use in families.

The Society of Christian Doctrine  – a Catholic Society working to spread of the Word of God in different ways.  It aims to provide catechists and teachers with free resources to assist in passing on our faith in many different ways.

A US based resource Catholic Mom has a range of resources – from colouring pages through to prayer and podcasts – and everything in between.

Another US based resource Catholic Children’s Liturgy  explains that the resource ideas and suggestions are “easy to use and simple to understand…. to help make God’s word accessible to multi-level age groups of children.”
