Baptism

“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.”” (CCC 1213)

Infant Baptism

baptismInfant baptisms are always by appointment. Parents are expected to attend a Preparation Course and a one-to-one meeting with the Parish Priest before the children are baptised. We run several courses each year. Each course comprises three evenings. They take place on three consecutives Thursday from 7pm to 8pm.

Baptism Celebrations
They take place on a Saturday afternoon starting at 2.30pm. The choice of the date is left to the parents. However, due to the amount of baptism requests we receive, parents should register for the course at least 2 months before their preferred Baptism date to avoid delay.
