Let’s Get Together and Grow

growThe Let’s Get Together and Grow group was set up by Maeve Hurley, a former parishioner, along with several other women of the parish, in the late 1990’s.

It was set up primarily as a group for Catholic women and their young children to meet together and to grow in faith, hence the name.

In the past, the group has been able to study a number of topics, ranging from the Sacraments, Baptism, Advent, Lent, The Creed and The Rosary as well as looking at ways of praying with growing children and other activities intended to enhance our bringing them up as Catholics.

One of the most important themes, however, has been the sharing, support and general fellowship that has taken place over the years. Time and again, those who have come along to the group have said that this is the element that they have appreciated the most and have got the greatest fun.

Because of the high proportion of children in the current group, the current focus is on keeping the babies and toddlers entertained with the wide selection of toys on offer while the mums grab a cup of tea and cake and benefit from the mutual support which has been such a core part of the group since its start.
