Spirituality, Reflections and Prayers

Year of St Joseph

Pope Francis has declared a year dedicated to St Joseph, from 8 December 2020 to 8 December 2021. He says: “Each of us can discover in Joseph – the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence – an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble” (Patris CordePope Francis).

St Joseph

The Year of St Joseph, 8th December 2020 – 8th December 2021

 Prayer to St Joseph

Most Blessed Saint Joseph, we know that you are the faithful protector and intercessor of all who love and venerate you, and after Jesus and Mary, we come to you as an example of holiness, for you are especially close to God. Therefore, we humbly commend ourselves, with all who are dear to us, to your intercession. We most humbly ask of you, by your love for Jesus and Mary, not to abandon us during life and to assist us at the hour of our death.

Glorious Saint Joseph, spouse of the Immaculate Virgin, pray for us to have a pure, humble, charitable mind, and perfect resignation to the Holy Will of God. Be our guide, our father, and our model through life that we may die, as you did, in the arms of Jesus and Mary.

Loving Saint Joseph, faithful follower of Jesus Christ, we raise our hearts to you and implore your powerful intercession in obtaining from the Divine Heart of Jesus all the graces necessary for our spiritual and temporal welfare, particularly the grace of a happy death, and the special grace we now humbly implore in a few moments of silence: (Mention your request) O Guardian of the Word Incarnate, we feel confident that your prayers on our behalf will be graciously heard before the throne of God. Amen
