Here are the options for you to contribute to the appeal launched in 2017:
1) Use the parish website. Click on DONATE TO OUR PARISH. At the drop-down menu in the first box ‘(I would like to donate to..), select the second option ‘English Martyrs Building Fund’. You are asked to give contact details, but these are required only if you wish to GiftAid your donation (*see below).
2) Donate by cheque: please make cheques payable to ‘English Martyrs Parish’ and mark the back of the cheque ‘Building Fund’. There are donation envelopes available at the back of the church: you can use these and put them into the Shrine/Church Restoration Donations Box on the left as you come through the inner( double) doors to the main area of the church. Cash donations may also be made here. If you are a UK taxpayer, the donation envelopes also include the opportunity to sign a GiftAid* declaration
3) Text a donation [text ‘Parish TOWER’ to 70800]. The maximum sum you can donate by this route is £5
*What is GiftAid? GiftAid is a government scheme whereby the receiving charity can claim back 25% on your donation. As an example: you donate £20, the parish claims back the tax of £5 (at basic rate) from HMRC, receiving £25 in total. An INDIVIDUAL DONOR must be a British taxpayer and must provide an email or address when making the donation. We can also claim the tax from a donation by a BUSINESS DONOR who can claim relief by setting the value of the donation against annual profits.
