Eight day parish pilgrimage, walking approximately 120km of the Camino de Santiago, the famous walking pilgrimage to the shrine of St James that ends in the city of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, north-west Spain. The exact date and price will depend on the size of the group. Presently, we are planning for Friday 23rd May to Friday 30th May 2025. The provisional cost is £1000 per person sharing, (£380 single room supplement). The itinerary:
- Day 1: Fly to Santiago, transfer and day in Lugo (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- Day 2: Walk from Sarria to Portomarin (22km)
- Day 3: Walk from Portomarin to Palas de Rei (24km)
- Day 4: Walk from Palas de Rei to Arzúa (29km)
- Day 5: Walk from Arzúa to O Predouzo (20km)
- Day 6: Walk from O Pedrouzo to Santiago (18km)
- Day 7: Explore Santiago de Compostela
- Day 8: Guided tour of city and cathedral, transfer and fly back to Stansted.
The cost includes flights, duty and taxes, 4 nights in a hotel in Lugo, 3 nights in a hotel in Santiago, bed & breakfast each day, plus dinner on the first and last days. A minibus will deliver and collect us each day that we walk, so we won’t be carrying our luggage with us as we go! A specialist Camino guide will walk with us, and we will cover sufficient distance to receive the official pilgrim passport and Compostela certificate. The pilgrimage will be organised by Northern Star Travel Ltd.
At this stage, to finalise dates and cost, please register your interest. Once the details are confirmed, a deposit of £300 per person is required by 15th January 2025 to book, with the balance due eight weeks before departure.
