SYNOD GATHERINGS AT ST HELEN’S
Pope Francis is inviting all of us to listen again to each other, hearing our experiences of faith with all its joys and disappointments, and to find new ways of strengthening each other. It is an opportunity for us to show our care for the family of the Church.
SYNOD 2021 PART 1
In November, we invited parishioners to attend one of 3 sessions on the 3rd, 10th & 24th to discuss and share their journey through the pandemic. Our Synod Representative Jeff, then collated the information from the sessions and this is now available to download here just click on the link.
SYNOD 2022 PART 2
The second phase of the process has moved from “reflection” and will focus on “who we would like to be as a parish?” Three session were held on the 12th, 13th & 16th January 2022 and all of the findings have been collated and are available to download here – just click on the link.
The second phase of the Synod is happening now and will move from “reflection” and will focus on “who we would like to be as a parish?” There will be three sessions for parishioners to come and share their ideas and suggestions as follows. Please try and come and support this:
Synod Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit,
as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us,
make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go
and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful;
do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity
so that we may journey together
to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You,
who are at work in every place and time,
in the communion of the
Father and the Son,
forever and ever. Amen.
