The Epiphany of the Lord Year C

At the beginning of another year, the Wise Men of the Epiphany remind us to value our faith in Jesus. They searched for him, they made the journey, they chose the gifts they would give him and when at last they found him, they exchanged their worldly gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the eternal gift of Life itself – Jesus – the Way, the Truth and the Life.

The Magi accepted Jesus as their Lord and God; so too we consecrate this year to his Lordship asking him to increase the gifts of faith, hope and love in our lives. Whatever this year has in store for us, our families, our parishes, our country and our world, we invite Jesus to hold our hand as we journey onward together as his disciples.

As a Community of disciples, we are invited to embrace this New Year and commit ourselves afresh to our Mission which is to be a living, loving, growing Catholic community rooted in our worship of God, our formation in faith & our outreach to the poor. Let’s show how much we value our faith in Christ by involving ourselves more in these key areas of our Mission.

May God bless the year ahead and may Mary and all the Saints help us to be pilgrims of hope in this Jubilee Year!
