THE VIEW FROM THE PRESBYTERY
Fr Terry is still in Bury St Edmunds receiving nursing care.
Please keep him in your prayers while he awaits news of his operation.
Thank you to the parishioners who donated to and supported the parish sewing group last week. Repairs to our church’s soft furnishings are fully underway and will be ongoing over the next few months. Our community is increasingly made stronger through the people we meet in activities such as these. We become part of our parish’s history in the work that we do to preserve, repair and enhance our church, as much as the charitable work we do to help others. Many of the beautiful items we care for here have been donated, created or gifted to our church by its members throughout our long existence.
The sewing group will continue to meet every other Monday from 10am-1pm. Our next meeting will be on the 17th. All are most welcome to join.
POPE’S INTENTION FOR JULY
For a Eucharistic life We pray that Catholics may place the celebration of the Eucharist at the heart of their lives, transforming human relationships in a very deep way and opening to the encounter with God and all their brothers and sisters.
IF YOU GO IN TO HOSPITAL: If someone is sick in hospital, please let us know here at the Presbytery, and/or ask the staff on the ward, so that your loved one can be visited whilst in hospital, and receive Holy Communion and any other Sacraments from the Chaplain. John O’Neill 01438 314333 at the Lister hospital. The staff on the wards can also contact the Chaplain.
ROSARY GROUP: Come and join us in thechurch hall on Tuesday evenings at 7pm for recital of the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
THE LOBSTER POT LUNCH: Friday 21st July at 12.45pm in the church hall. Lunches cost £15 for a three-course meal, glass of wine, coffee and chocolates. Please call Sue on 07711
In view of the closure of the parish’s bank branch, it would greatly assist the parish if those who donate by cash would move over to a monthly Bankers Standing Order. If you wish to do this please go to the website and download the Standing Order form.

Stella Maris Sea Sunday 2023
Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all of our lives, but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions. In the last year, more crews have been abandoned by their employers than ever before. Many are still being denied the right to leave their ships for even a short break away from the relentless noise and pressure onboard. Many are reporting more stress and poorer mental health. Sea Sunday is Sunday 9th July. It is when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Your support will make a big difference to seafarers and fishers in need. You can donate in church, envelopes at the back of the church, by visiting www.stellamaris.org.uk/donate, or by texting ‘SEA’ to 70460 to donate £5. This collection is vital to enable Stella Maris (formerly called Apostleship of the Sea) to continue its important work – so please give generously. Thank you.
