THE VIEW FROM THE PRESBYTERY

Time flies! I have been here for over a week already and am gradually getting to grips with important things like where keys are kept – and what they do or do not open! Those of you who attended the 8.30 Mass last Sunday morning will have witnessed the little ‘drama’ involving the key of the Tabernacle! Apologies for that – I promise you that it will not happen again! I have officiated at my first Baptism in the Parish and also my first Funeral – the opening and closing of the circle of our lives of Faith in the Church. Have also paid my first visit to the Parish School and happened to join the Reception class as they were learning each other’s first names via a game – think they were a bit nonplussed by Fr Séamus joining in! It was good to meet Mr Maloney the Headteacher and some other members of the Staff as well as the children. I look forward to being more involved with the School. Thank you for your warm welcome to the Parish – please bear with me as I settle in. Have a good week!

Fr Séamus
