Sacramental Preparation

A Sacrament is an efficacious sign of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is given to us. Full and active participation in the sacramental life of the Church requires a period of preparation of both mind and heart to be receptive to the grace of new life in Christ.

Please contact the Parish Office for further information.

Baptism: If you have a child for baptism in the near future please contact Marion in the Parish Office so that she can make arrangements for you to complete the Baptism instruction with Sister Vivien.  These classes take place on a Tuesday evening.

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist: Children wanting to take part in the programme should be in school Year 3 or older and registration takes place in the parish in June. Please see Lily Norris or Marion Jones for further information.

Confirmation: The course begins for young people of school Year 9 or above each January for confirmation to take place in June each year. Please see Amelia Onyema for further information.

RCIA: The RCIA for 2013/14 has now come to an end.  It was marvellous at the Easter Vigil to have eight people coming into the Church.  I am now collecting names for the new group to begin in September. Should you know of anyone interested in discovering more about the Catholic Church with a view to possibly joining, then do tell them to contact me or give me their name and contact details.

Marriage: For those who wish to marry, the policy of the Diocese is that the couples must give at least 6 months notice to the priest. Marriage preparation takes place each year in our parish on a Saturday in March. Please see Fr Michael for further information.
