The Copenhagen Street Foodbank was originally set up as a project of the Blessed Sacrament RC Church in 2018 and became a registered charity (1205259) in October 2023. Our mission is to provide food and essentials to those suffering from food poverty in Islington and our neighbouring communities. We open our doors every Thursday afternoon to our attendees, without the need for a referral. Entirely run by 50+ dedicated volunteers, our organisation relies on both monetary and food donations to carry out our crucial work.

Since opening, the Foodbank has served thousands of people. Currently we see over 200 households each week which represents 600-800 individuals. Each household receives a selection of household staples, fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, some ready meals, and eggs every other week. During our opening hours, we have several agencies on rotation who offer support services. Additionally, we have a seating area where attendees can enjoy a beverage and snack and are able to socialise.

We are very grateful for anything you can contribute to help the foodbank to keep going.

We open to accept food donations on Wednesday and Thursday mornings in the Blessed Sacrament Church basement (157 Copenhagen St, N1 0SR).

If you would like to make a one-off or regular donation to the foodbank you can do so by using Just Giving or email us for more details.
