RECENT NEWS: 17 July, 2022     Blessed Sacrament Parish

Mass Times:

Booking the Hall: Our new system for booking the hall is now in operation. You can pick up at church leaflets with details to have on hand if you are interested in booking the hall. You can also receive information by email using this address: bsccs157@gmail.com or phone 07361807835.

Becoming a Catholic: If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Catholic or being confirmed as an adult, there are information sheets in the sacristy outlining the usual process of preparation used in the parish (RCIA) Blessed Sacrament and St. John’s candidates prepare together. Pick up a sheet if you are interested or email David Lester who coordinates the programme at davidlester51@btinternet.com and ask him to send you one.

First Holy Communion: If you have a child presently in Year 2 or older whom you would like to prepare for First Confession and first Communion during the coming school year, please pick up “Registration of Interest” form from the stand by the church door, fill it in and return it to the sacristy before the summer break. This will help with planning for the autumn.

CAN YOU SHARE YOUR TIME AND TALENT WITH THE PARISH?

Money Counters: We are just 2 short of being able to have the desired four teams of money counters Are there 2 more volunteers who could stay after the 11:00 Mass once a month to count the collection

Readers: A new rota for readers will be prepared for August onward. Is anyone interested in joining the team of readers?  If so, please let Sister Miriam know and indicate at which Mass you want to read. Some initial training/introduction will be offered, hopefully before the end of July.

 Cleaning: We’d love to have a third cleaning team who could take a turn every three weeks at tidying up the church. You could learn the ropes from the present teams.

Prayers for the Sick:  We pray for all our sick and housebound parishioners, especially Sharon McDonnell, Felicia Tawiah, Phuong Quach,, Merline Elizabeth, Stanley and Theresa Russell, Peggy Walsh, Glorea Tejan-Jalloh, Abigail O’Donnell, Albert Boateng, Inita Roberts and Irene Bryan (Esther’s sister and mother) and Carline Cross (friend of Sister Paulette)

Prayers for the Dead: Please remember in prayer all who have died recently and those whose anniversaries are at this time. May they rest in peace and rise in glory.
