Parish Groups

Our faith community can be nourished by active participation in parish groups that meet for prayer, social action, Sacramental preparation, youth work and the support of others in the life the Church. To share our lives in these ways allows us to offer ourselves and draw strength from each other. Please contact the Parish Office for further information.

ALTAR SERVERS  –  Children should have made their First Holy Communion before requesting to serve. Contact Fr Shaun

ALTAR LINEN To maintain a continual supply of clean linen and cloths for the altar. Contact Daphne

APF BOXES To collect, count and monitor the Mission Boxes. Contact the Parish Office

ARCHIVIST/ PHOTOGRAPHS: Collate history and record significant events Contact the Parish Office

CARING GROUP including HOUSEBOUND/SICK To provide the Eucharist, care and attention and social recreation for the sick and housebound of the parish. Contact Daphne

CHURCH CLEANERS Helpers needed for church cleaning on a fortnightly rota. Contact the Parish  office in the first instance

CHURCH MAINTENANCE, HEALTH & SAFETY Looking after the upkeep, wear and tear of the Church premises. Contact Kieron

LITTLE CHURCH –  CHILDREN’S  LITURGY  The liturgy for young children takes place at the 10.30am Mass, in the church hall with two Catechists for the first half of the Mass. Children rejoin the Mass at the Offertory. Activities to suit all ages including participating in the Children’s Mass. All independent children are welcome.   Contact Jean

SINGERS AND  MUSICIANS are always welcome at the Sunday 10.30am Mass.  Contact Bernard

COLLECTION COUNTERS Helpers required to give up an hour every few weeks to count collection after the 10.30 Mass. Contact Mandy in the office

SAFEGUARDING Anyone working with children or vulnerable people are  now required to a DBS certificate and   complete online safeguarding  training  please check with Katrina directly for details

CONFIRMATION Preparation  –  young  people in year 10 and above should be attending  Mass at SJF regularly  before requesting  this  important Sacrament. Please  contact Fr Shaun

EUCHARISTIC and EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS For those wishing to help distribute The Blessed Sacrament, at the Masses and in the Parish. Contact Fr  Shaun  or  Mandy the Parish Office

FINANCE COMMITTEE Regulating the parish expenses. Meeting quarterly to ensure the smooth running of the parish finances. Contact  Peter

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION/ RECONCILIATION Preparation courses are open to all children in Year 3 and aged 7 or above. Program commences late January with weekly lessons for an hour on a weekday evening until the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion have been received. Usually May. Children should be attending Mass at SJF regularly before parent request these important Sacraments. Please contact Fr Shaun in the first instance

GIFT AID/PLANNED GIVING/DIRECT DEBIT  Sign a Gift Aid agreement so that we can claim 25pence per £ from the taxman Contact  Traci  via  the Parish Office or email  direct
