Following Word of God Sunday, Allen Hall held its annual Academic Dinner on January 29th. As is customary, lecturers, tutors, administrators, and staff members responsible for the intellectual formation of seminarians gathered for supper. This event recognized their invaluable commitment and support in priestly formation. The evening provided an opportunity for those involved in Allen Hall’s academic life to interact with students outside the usual classroom setting. It was a chance to express gratitude and appreciation for their role in shaping seminarians, not only in philosophy and theology but also through their example of lived faith.
Such occasions are reminiscent of St. Peter’s reply to Christ when asked if the disciples, too, would walk away from His teaching. The words of eternal life have persisted through the ages and remind us that, despite all the answers we may seek in life, only the Truth of Christ’s teaching offers perfect solace to our restless pursuits.
