Let us imagine for a moment that you turn to the artificial intelligence model ChatGPT for help. Useful, extremely useful! You can save plenty of time, refine your work, expand your knowledge, apply it to a vast range of fields and needs.
Let us imagine now that you upload into ChatGPT a very big file, ‘MY LIFE’. Your family history, the major events of your life, traumas, sins, addictions… dreams, hopes, desires… your character and temperament, qualities and limitations… with great honesty, leaving nothing out.
Then, ask artificial intelligence these questions:
“Given my history, do you think I can be happy in life?”, “Knowing my limitations do I have any chance to be a priest?”
“On the basis of my traumas, could I ever overcome all my fears?”
“Does my marriage have any possibility to last?”
“Is there any chance that I can forgive those who have hurt me?”
Now, do something else. Go to Mass on Sunday, sit down and listen to the Word of God proclaimed in the Readings. “Enter” into the Word of God again the “file” of your life and now ask the Word the same questions. Ask God’s intelligence, ask God’s wisdom. Place your life under the Word of God, with great sincerity.
What would be the difference?
Very simple: Hope! Yes, Hope is the difference.
When we add up all the events of our life and press the Return Key in the keyboard, using the most sophisticated algorithms and models of AI, we can understand and know more about our life, but we miss hope. When we place our life inside the Word and when we allow the Word to visit our life, everything is possible, the impossible becomes reality, predictions and prophecies leave place to God’s actions and we begin a new life, we live in Hope.
Today is the Sunday of the Word of God, try this exercise!
Let me know…
