A Sacrament is an efficacious sign of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is given to us. Full and active participation in the sacramental life of the Church requires a period of preparation of both mind and heart to be receptive to the grace of new life in Christ.
Please contact the Parish Office for further information.
First Holy Communion
Our First Holy Communion children begin their preparation for this great Sacrament in September/October and meet on a Saturday morning for 1½ hours in the Parish Hall while their parents are catechised in the Church Hall.
This is very important as the parents are able to learn and then encourage and answer questions from their children.
It is part of the programme that the children attend the 9.30am Mass whilst on the programme and when there is a class.
Sessions are not every Saturday so it is not too much of chore.
The Sacrament takes place in April, May or June over 2 Sundays and then there is a Sending Forth Mass and party for both groups.
New Programme began on 13th September 2014 with Mass of Inscription at the 9.30am Mass on 14th.
