BISHOP NICHOLAS HUDSON TALK TO OUR CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES on 16th March 2025

Bishop Nicholas began his talk on the Universe and how it consists of billions of Galaxies.  His interest in learning more about Astronomy has helped him to understand the existence of God.  “My God how great thou Art.” Psalm 145:1-3

Bishop Nicholas went on to speak about a remarkable young boy called Carlo Acutis who sadly died of Leukaemia at only 15 years of age.  Carlo left a legacy of pure unconditional Love for Thy Neighbour.  He was remembered by many, for his kindness and unreserved will to help those in need whether it be homeless, poor or fellow students of his similar age who were needing support and guidance from bullies and home life-strife.  He was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020 and will be canonized in April this year 2025.

Bishop Nicholas finished his talk by reading a beautiful poem called Refugees by Brian Bilston which when read backwards ie (from bottom to top) sent an entirely opposite message from what the original poem conveyed.  It was an interesting look at why we should continue to help those in need.

Our Confirmation Candidates thank him and for his time and great wisdom.
