CAFOD ( Catholic Agency for Overseas Development )

October family fast day is on Friday 1st October with the collection taking place on the following Sunday the 3rd October. This year the theme is ‘Climate Crisis Appeal’ and reminds us of the Climates Talks that will take place in Glasgow, 1st-2nd November, where world leaders with Pope Francis attending, will decide how to respond to the severe climate changes that are affecting our planet and peoples. Envelopes will be available shorty. For more information go to:

Special envelopes for one off donations are still available for this appeal.

A monthly raffle, called ‘split the Pot’ (where half the monies go to a winner and half to the parish appeal) is now up and running. Monthly draw is every first Sunday after 11.30am Mass. Congratulations to our Monthly winners.

Thank you to all who have responded generously and an invitation to all to do the best you can for our parish mission and outreach. Further Newsletters will give us all information on how we are doing.

Our parish is the primary source that nourishes our spiritual lives; over these few weeks let us all pray for the work and mission of the parish and let us always give thanks for all who have bequeathed the parish to us, and endeavour to be faithful to that gift, encouraged by the words of scripture, “be rich in good works, generous and ready to share, thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future….” 1 Tim 6:16-19.     God Bless us All.   Fr. Patrick.
