Meeting for First Holy Communion children
The next First Holy Communion meeting is on Sunday 12th and it’s straight after the 10am Family Mass. Please go downstairs to the Crypt. The sessions will last at least an hour but it will take much longer if books are missing, children are particularly exuberant or if there are late arrivals etc. So, in order to stick to one hour, please ensure the children bring their books, turn up on time and co-operate. Catechists will teach your children but if you’d like to stay with your child, then you’re very welcome. Similarly, if a child is particularly lively at the first session, the parents will be invited to and expected to attend all the sessions with their child. For more meeting dates and the dates for the First Holy Communion, please click here. See you all on Sunday 12th after the 10am Family Mass in the Crypt.
Meeting for Confirmation Candidates and their parents/carers
This is on Monday 13th January 2025 and it is the first session. It’s for the confirmation candidate AND their parents or carers. It’s at 6.30pm in the Crypt. Please go straight to the crypt. You will need to bring your completed registration form, baptism certificate and £60 (cash or contactless) which just about cover costs. If you’ve already given us your registration form or a copy of your baptism certificate then you don’t need to bring this. For more information including meeting dates beyond this one, please click here. We look forward to seeing you all at 6.30pm on Monday 13th in the Crypt.
Thank you
Fr Rajiv and Fr Jakub would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all parishioners and visitors for your unwavering support, generosity and gifts throughout the Christmas season and the entire year. We extend our thanks to those who have contributed directly through their ministry—our dedicated coffee morning bakers and helpers, catechists, readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, cleaners, church furniture fixers, researchers, singers, instrumentalists, ushers, greeters, offertory collectors, flower arrangers, church decorators, and countless other volunteers who may not be specifically mentioned. We also appreciate those who have supported us through Mass offerings and, for this church or for charities that have appealed, your donations. Your generosity truly embodies the spirit of Christ!

Christmas Day Lunch – happiness all round!
Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that helped out on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Thank you also to those that kindly offered their help but we were unable to take up your generous offers due to the overwhelming number of helpers already enlisted. There was a fantastic atmosphere and it all went like clock work with volunteers working hard and having fun too. The guests thoroughly appreciated the delicious feast and presents. We very much appreciate those that donated gifts and financial assistance too. We will definitely be running it again next year so watch this space for the volunteer call. Wishing you all blessings and peace for 2025.

Support our Mission
St John’s receives no funding from the Vatican, Diocese nor government. We are completely dependent on the donations and generosity of its parishioners and visitors for the upkeep of the church building and presbytery as well as day to day running costs such as candles, books and energy. If you’d like to, there are many ways to donate. You can do this by scanning the QR code with your smartphone.
Or donate through this web page or by bank transfer using the details here.
To each and every donor, a heartfelt thank you.
