We’re still in need of stewards to help during church opening hours/Masses. At the moment we have just enough to cover weekday shifts, but we still need a few more for the weekend shifts. For those who can’t commit on a regular basis, we also need people willing to cover occasional shifts or simply be a back-up for those who are volunteering on a regular basis.
The shifts are as follows:
- Tuesday to Thursday 8.50am -11.30am;
- Friday 5.20pm – 8pm;
- Saturday 11.15 – 2pm and 7.15pm – 9pm;
- Sunday from 10.15am – 1pm and 5.20pm – 8pm.
The duties of the stewards are to:
- Welcome people into the church, inviting them to sanitise their hands, make them aware of the rules that need to be followed for everyone’s safety;
- Hand out candles to whoever wants them, guide people to the altar during Holy Communion ensuring safety distance is maintained and help clean the church after closing.
