Fr Cyril Chiaha Writes:

Today is the solemnity of All Saints, the day we remember and honor men and women both known and unknown who, notwithstanding the challenges of life, strived to live lives deeply rooted in Christ and the values of God’s kingdom. They did so in the understanding that human happiness does not consist in bodily life, but ultimately lying in the vision of God. They stood for something that lasts unto eternity, something that “rust cannot corrode, moths cannot eat, and thieves cannot steal”.

The gospel reading of today’s feast is the beatitudes. They present to us Jesus’ core values, thereby informing us how to be. It is my hope that we try as much as we can, in every relationship, place, and circumstance, to seek to be occupied with living out the values of God’s kingdom, as that is crucial to living a Christian life, a life of holiness, a life of becoming a saint. May our celebration of today’s feasts encourage us to make the right and informed choices in this life, as our choices here and now, are fundamental to our future destiny.

Have a blessed week!
