The Sacrament of Anointing is the proper sacrament for those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age or about to undergo a serious operation. One seeks the Sacrament for support in struggle against illness and to seek healing from Christ.
The celebration of the Anointing of the Sick consists essentially in the anointing of the forehead and hands of the sick person and accompanied by the liturgical prayer of the celebrant asking for the special grace of this sacrament.
