“There is one thing I ask of the Lord, for this I long, to live in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life…”
– Psalm 26

Allen Hall Seminary embarked on a retreat in the mountains of Frascati, Italy’s Lazio region, for the community’s annual silent retreat. Arriving at the Capuchin Monastery, the group settled into their accommodation before the retreat schedule began with Mass and an insight into the lives of the Capuchin Friars.
This year, Fr Philip Caldwell (from the Diocese of Salford) led the Retreat Conferences, delivering talks on: St Joseph’s fruitful virtue of chastity, The Virgin Mary as Sorrowful and Joyful Queen, Devotion to the Saints, The Permissive Will of God in tandem with our will, and more. Allen Hall thanks Fr Philip for his enriching talks and homilies throughout the retreat.

Spending time together in silence and prayer brought Allen Hall’s seminarians and formators to greater fraternity as they prepared to journey onwards to Rome for the Jubilee of Seminarians, where over 50 countries were represented by their respective dioceses. The time spent in the mountains and touring Frascati’s town further enriched the seminarians’ formation.
Holy Virgin, called Blessed by all generations – pray for us
