“Light immortal, light divine, Visit thou these hearts of thine, And our inmost being fill”
– Veni, sancte Spiritus

Allen Hall Seminary opened its doors again to welcome the second Jubilee of Hope Lecture given by the Rector, Canon John O’Leary. This particular talk fell on the eve of Pentecost and rightfully focused on the role of the Holy Spirit in the grand History of God’s involvement with humanity, whom his Son redeemed by the One Sacrifice of the Cross. With full attendance, the Rector delivered a lecture whilst the seminarians prepared Allen Hall for a tea and coffee reception.
After the talk, everyone gathered in the refectory where the Rector gave a brief introduction to the life of the Martyrs of Douai. From here, the attendees were then grouped with seminarians for tours of Allen Hall, which were to conclude just before the Community Vespers and welcome Pentecost.

With the tours finishing just in time for Solemn Vespers I of Pentecost, the guests gathered in the AH Chapel. After vespers, everyone was invited to venerate a relic of St John Southworth. After the liturgy, everyone reported the wonderful and welcoming hospitality of the AH Community, especially on the eve of Pentecost.
Holy Virgin, filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost – pray for us
