NEWSLETTER: 26th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – 1st OCTOBER 2023

Fr Andrew writes…

As of this Sunday I’ll have been here in the parish for 1 month precisely. I’m pleased to say that I am still very much enjoying getting to you know you all. Thank you for your welcome and your patience!

We are now beginning the month of October, which is the month of the Holy Rosary. I would like to encourage everyone in the parish to pray the rosary during this month. Perhaps you know it and love it well, perhaps it is new to you: either way please try to pray it this month, whether on your own, as a family or with friends. I will be making some materials that may help available at church and on the website. If you know of something, then please pass it around or contact the parish office and we will distribute it. I am encouraging people to pray the rosary together after the 10am mass (Tuesday to Friday).

Also this month, we are going to start adoration of the blessed sacrament at 6pm on the first Friday, 6th October. While the blessed sacrament is exposed there will be an opportunity for confession and the time will end with benediction at about 6.45pm. On that note, confessions will now be heard in the confessional just next to the statue of St Patrick (newly cleaned out and soon to be painted).

I am still really keen to hear your ideas and thoughts about the parish so please do drop in to Clergy House, give me a call or drop me a line and I will be delighted to hear from you.

God bless you all!
