CHILDREN’S LITURGY

The Diocese of Westminster now requires a parental consent form to be completed for each child attending Children’s Liturgy at any of the weekend Masses. You will only need to fill this in once. Each week, we are also required to take a register of all children and adults present.   A parent/guardian will need to accompany the child to Children’s Liturgy until the consent form has been completed. Please speak to Anna Franchi or Maggie Coffey to obtain a form.

We are fortunate to be able to offer Children’s Liturgy during Mass at 6.00 pm on Saturday and at 9.00 am and 11.00 am on Sunday. The sessions are facilitated by trained catechists and aim to provide children with an adapted Liturgy of the Word mainly aimed at children between 4-9 years.  Children can come independently and should be able to sit, listen and respond to the word of God for approximately 30 minutes. Children under 4 must be accompanied by an adult. Parents/guardians are also welcome to attend with older children if they feel their child would benefit from this.

We are always looking to expand our team of Children’s Liturgy catechists so if you are interested in the chance to help children learn and grow in faith, please contact Anna at whetstoneclc@rcdow.org.uk. Training and support will be provided.

CHOIR

The music at the Sunday Masses at 11am and special occasions is led by the church Choir. It always welcomes new singers and instrumentalists. There are short rehearsals each Sunday before the evening Mass, and the 11am choir practices on Thursday evenings. Extra choir practices are held before Christmas, Holy Week and special events.
