ADHOC AND REGULAR CLASSES

We hold Baptism courses upon request. First Holy Communion classes runs from September to early June. Teenage Confirmation runs from January to June. Adult Confirmation preparation is available upon request. We hold a face-to-face Marriage Preparation course in May that is run by married couples from the parish. Please contact: hampstead@rcdow.org.uk for more information. We tend to be heavily oversubscribed particularly for Confirmation so please note that parishioners are given priority.

Baptism Class

Our Baptism class is for new parents. It is an opportunity to talk about faith in the family, what it means to become a parent, the commitment and promise to God when seeking Baptism for a child. It is really nice to have two or more families together for this class as it opens up discussion and is a wonderful opportunity for parents to meet.

First Holy Communion

We prepare children for their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion with weekly classes in our Parish Room here in the presbytery. Children need to have been baptised to receive these Sacraments and so we ask for proof of Baptism. Our classes start on 22nd September 2024. We will have a meeting for parents and children on 15th September at 09h30 to talk about all aspects of our course of preparation. We are always delighted to welcome volunteer catechists to help us in this faith-sharing endeavour so please do email us if you would like to get involved.

Teenage Confirmation

Classes run from January to June and we hold them in the convent of the Marcellina Sisters on Ellerdale Road in Hampstead. We will have a meeting for candidates and parents on 6th October after our Solemn Mass so at around 12h30. As with First Holy Communion, we are always really happy to welcome catechists to help run the classes so please do email us if this is something you would like to do. It doesn’t require a huge time commitment. Even one session is a big help!
