Sustainability policy

In Laudato si’ (2015), Pope Francis writes: “The urgent challenge to protect our common home includes a concern to bring the whole human family together to seek a sustainable and integral development, for we know that things can change.” St Theodore’s parish, Hampton, is committed to seeking such sustainable and integral development, and has already committed to switching its energy suppliers to take advantage of those environmentally-friendly contracts which the diocese’s recommended broker can provide. Staff and volunteers are also committed to saving energy by switching off lights and equipment when not in use. Our photocopier has an energy-saving mode.

When we commission any future building work, we shall take energy efficiency updates into consideration, including solar panels and treble/double glazing. This policy is open to revision as new recommendations are received from the diocese.
