Baptism

The most important feature of the Rite of Infant Baptism is the role of the parents. They present the child for the sacrament. During the celebration, they reaffirm their own faith and commitment to the church; and they solemnly undertake the responsibility of bringing the child up in the Catholic Faith – which implies that he/she will regularly share in the sacramental life and worship of the local church. This is called “fulfilling the true meaning of the sacrament” as initiation into the community.

If you would like to have your child baptise here at St Bridget, please follow the steps below:

  1. You need to fill in the Baptism Enquiry Form. It can be collected from the parish Office from Monday to Friday (9.30am – 1.30pm).
  2. We need evidence of one parent’s Catholic Baptism (Baptismal Certificate).
  3. If you are not resident in the parish, you need to get a permission from your local priest.
