The Alpha Course

The Alpha Course is a free, informal series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith, designed for anyone curious about life, faith and meaning with no pressure or prior belief required. Each session typically includes food, a video on topics like “Who is Jesus?” or “Why and how do I pray?”, and a small group discussion for asking questions and sharing perspectives in a friendly, safe environment. Originating in the UK, Alpha runs globally in churches, homes, and online, helping people explore spirituality and build community.

All are welcome

Young, old, no faith, lots of faith, from this parish, from other parishes or no parish at all. Come along, bring a friend and chat or just come for the food. You can attend all sessions or just drop in.

What Happens at an Alpha Session?

  • Food: A meal often kicks off the session, encouraging connection.
  • Talk: A short video or talk presents a core aspect of Christianity.
  • Discussion: Participants break into small groups to discuss the talk and their own thoughts.
  • No Pressure: All questions are welcome, and there’s no obligation to share.

Who is it For?

  • Anyone curious about Christianity, regardless of background or belief.
  • People who haven’t been to church or are looking to reconnect with faith.
  • Practicing Catholics who want to experience God more powerfully in their life!
