Pope Francis has asked us to take part in a listening process whereby everyone in the church is asked to share their experience of the church. This process enables everyone’s voice to be heard, it allows the experience of our lives to help guide the church in its concerns and priorities.
One way to take part is to answer some simple questions contained in the attached link. Simply click on the link and you can share your views. It’s as simple as that. What you say will form part of our parishes submission to the diocese to be incorporated in our diocesan response.
Information about the Worldwide Synod 2021-2023
As part of the worldwide consultation ahead of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in October 2023, the Diocese of Westminster will launch the first stages of its Synodal Path with a liturgy at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday 16th October. This will be followed by a time for listening which takes place in our parishes during November and the first part of Advent.
Each parish will follow the pathway best suited to their situation, with a diversity of resources made available to assist them. The main question the preparatory document suggests for discussion is: A synodal Church, in announcing the Gospel, ‘journeys together’. How is this ‘journeying together’ happening today in your local Church? What steps does the Spirit invite us to take in order to grow in our ‘journeying together’?
