Sacristy

The work in the sacristy is done quietly behind the scenes in order that everything runs smoothly. There is a rota of volunteers to help with the weekday Masses. The duties include preparation of the altar, finding Readers, Eucharistic Ministers and someone to take up the Offertory, clearing away and locking up. It involves arriving about half an hour before the beginning of Mass. During the Sunday Masses the sacristan has similar duties.

Behind the scenes the work involves washing and ironing, ordering supplies, cleaning silver and gold, cruets and jugs, and making sure the upstairs sacristy is kept clean and tidy. Further help is always welcome especially for washing, ironing and cleaning. Training is also given to anyone interested.
