RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
When Jesus was asked about his life and his ministry, he answered “Come and see”. The enquirers went and spent time with Him.
There are still many people asking the same questions today. As a response to such requests, the Catholic Church provides the opportunity to “Come and see” just as in Jesus’ time.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the way offered to enquirers today. The RCIA is a PROCESS rather than formal teaching for all adults who are interested in becoming Catholic or who want to find out more about the Catholic faith. Also, those baptised adults who wish to deepen their own faith are very welcome and can be a great support and encouragement to the group.
The RCIA consists of a programme of regular meetings, with suitable themes based on scripture for reflection, faith-sharing and encounters with Jesus. The group also study and discuss areas of Catholic belief and practice and they pray and reflect on the Work of God together.
The enquirers embark on a spiritual journey of experience and discovery. Each adult is accompanied by a Catholic Sponsor/Faith-Friend who will support and encourage them in their search for God.
During the whole process however, there is no pressure of any kind and members are free to opt out at any time.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) programme is one tailored for adults who find themselves in the above situations.
The formal sessions of RCIA run from early October through to Easter. However, the Church welcomes inquirers at all times, even during those months when the formal RCIA sessions are not scheduled.
