Miss Barber

Miss Barber
It was primarily through this lady that the Missionaries came to Willesden Green. The Missionary Gazette wrote in 1917:

“We ask the prayers of our readers for the repose of the soul of Miss Barber. We owe to a very great extent the founding of the Mission at Willesden Green to her interest, zeal and apostolic energy. It was she who first asked the late Cardinal (Vaughan) to send the Diocesan Missionaries to Willesden Green. Miss Barber gave her generous sympathy, her personal service and money to this Mission.”

Perhaps today’s parishioners could say a prayer for this otherwise forgotten lady.
