Welcome to the Catholic Church of St. Raphael

The Story of St. Raphael the Archangel
St. Raphael the Archangel is one of the seven archangels who stand before the throne of God, and one of only three named in the Bible alongside St. Michael and St. Gabriel. His name means “God heals,” and his mission is one of healing, guidance, and protection.
St. Raphael appears in the Book of Tobit, a story filled with faith, family, and divine intervention. Disguised as a human named Azarias, Raphael accompanies young Tobias on a long journey to recover a family debt and find a wife. Along the way, Raphael protects Tobias from danger, helps him heal his father Tobit’s blindness using a fish’s gall, and guides him to marry Sarah, a woman plagued by sorrow and misfortune. Through Raphael’s divine assistance, both families are restored physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
This beautiful story reminds us that God sends help in many forms, often unseen. St. Raphael is the patron saint of travellers, the sick, and those seeking guidance. His presence in our parish name is a constant reminder of God’s healing love and the quiet strength of divine companionship.
As a parish dedicated to St. Raphael, we strive to reflect his mission offering healing, hope, and hospitality to all who walk through our doors. May his example inspire us to be messengers of peace and compassion in our community.
St. Raphael the Archangel, pray for us.
